The Veronicas Release New Single "Lolita" On iTunes!
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Warner Bros. Records) Australian pop princesses The Veronicas, fronted by Lisa and Jess Origliasso, have made their newest single, "Lolita," available on iTunes at https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/lolita-single/id545922519. The duo has also unleashed a heart-stopping video for the song, which premiered on PerezHilton.com (https://perezhilton.com/2012-08-30-the-veronicas-lolita-official-music-video) last week. The clip was directed by Spencer Susser, who also directed Lana Del Rey's video for "Summertime Sadness" and the indie drama Hesher, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Natalie Portman.

"Working with Spencer Susser on the visual side of 'Lolita' was a chance for us to explore the darker side of love through fantasy and science-fiction concepts," says Jess. "His cinematic presence brought to life the visual symbolism prevalent in our story of star-crossed love -- and the revenge that follows."

The Veronicas' growth, both personally and musically, is reflected on "Lolita" -- a dark-edged, industrial-tinged dance anthem with a soaring pop chorus that Lisa and Jess co-wrote with long-time collaborator Toby Gad (Beyoncé, Kelly Clarkson). "The song is about the dynamics and power struggles between men and women," Jess says. "We wanted to explore the psychology behind the 'Lolita' theme of a younger woman with an older man. People always assume that the guy is the predator and that the young girl's being taken advantage of, but that's not necessarily the case."

"The subject of love and relationships seemed to be a perfect focus," explained Susser of the small-screen collaboration. "We have all experienced how love can be so beautiful, but also can have a much darker side, which is a dichotomy shared by Lisa and Jessica.

"Collaborating with [The Veronicas] was a privilege," adds Susser. "They are of the rare sort. A super talent in genetic duplicate."

The Veronicas are writing and recording their third studio album with Gad, as well as Silverchair's Daniel Johns, and Martin Johnson from Boys Like Girls. The album will be The Veronicas first since 2007's Hook Me Up, which spawned the international hit "Untouched," which sold 1.7 million downloads in the U.S. and reached No. 1 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart, remaining lodged in the Top 10 for six months.
