BERLIN, GERMANY (Top40 Charts/ Popkomm Showcase Festival Official Website) - This year the Popkomm Showcase Festival has formed several key collaborations with international and local partners in order to introduce 60 bright new talents to trade visitors as well as to the German audience

C-Club will play host to two music-filled nights, starting on Wednesday, 8 September with a Scandinavian showcase co-presented by the legendary Swedish club, Almost Famous in conjunction with Berlin-based tastemakers, Nordic By Nature. The line-up features eight of Scandinavia's new acts, including, at only 23 years of age, Therese Aune from Norway with her orchestral piano-led pieces; Finnish duo, TV OFF with their colourful brand of electro-pop; the amazingly eclectic Fallulah bringing her impressive mix of Danish pop and charm; and topped off with one of Sweden's most well-known indie techno pop artists, Familjen. The party will continue into the night courtesy of the regular Nordic By Nature DJs.

The second night at C-Club will see VISIONS magazine presenting an outstanding programme of post rock guitar bands on Thursday, 9 September. The alternative and progressive rock act And So I Watch You From Afar is one of the UK and Ireland's insider's tips for 2010 and they will headline a bill which also includes the Norwegian rock band, The Megaphonic Thrift, the Finnish shoegazers, Murmansk, and, one of Denmark's most intriguing alternative rock bands, Kellermensch.

The Great Escape is the UK's leading showcase festival and will present a line-up of acts that have appeared in Brighton this year. On Wednesday, 8 September the USA's Darwin Deez will present his unique sound at the Lido, with support from UK newcomers, The Cads.

Karrera Klub is an institution of the Kreuzberg indie club scene and for the first time will present a special Karrera Klub @ Popkomm party at SchwuZ Club on Thursday, 9 September. The hand-picked line-up involves Danish techno pop visionaries, Spleen United; indie pop hitmakers from the Faroe Islands, The Ghost; and the innovative orchestral offerings of Austrian-based Londoners, Trouble Over Tokyo.

Also on Thursday, 9 September, one of Berlin's leading booking agency and promoter Four Artists will host its own intimate night at Privatclub. The agency presents a selection of talented new artists from its international roster, including Los Angeles-based Netherlander Laura Jansen and her radio-approved setlist of songs; Marie Fisker from Denmark and her lo-fi vintage of songwriting; self-proclaimed 'World Citizen', Julia Marcell delivers what she describes as "classical punk"; and Swiss/German acoustic duo, Boy completes the line-up. As an added bonus, Four Artists will then present another of its artists across the street from Privatclub where Canada's Rich Aucoin will delight the crowd with his interesting mix of audio and visual music and film at Eckst?^(o)ck.

Also from Canada is world-famous Canadian Blast, who will perform a special Popkomm daytime event at the Silverwings club on Thursday, 9 September. This showcase is open to members of the public, as well as Popkomm's guests, and will include a wide range of the latest sounds from Canada such as the soulful pop of Juno-winner Jully Black; the searing guitar sounds of Jonas & The Massive Attraction; the celtic/reggae mix of Delhi 2 Dublin; and the 60's-tinged harmonies of Yukon Blonde.

As well as these intriguing showcase events, Popkomm will also present further cooperations such as the Music From Ireland showcase featuring Yes Cadets, The Cast Of Cheers, and Dark Room Notes; the Music2Deal.com contest winning artist from India, Vasuda Sharma; and three excellent new German acts - the Myspace Featured Artist competition winner, Pool; the Regioactive winner, The Roskinski Quartett; and The NMO endorsed Berlin-based act, Charter.

Popkomm's partnership in 2010 will be with Berlin Festival where eight of the showcasing artists from the Popkomm programme will also appear on the line-up of Berlin Festival on Friday, 10 and Saturday, 11 September at Tempelhof airport.

This cooperation allows all Berlin Festival ticket holders free access to any of the showcases at the Popkomm Showcase Festival on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 September. For no additional cost a ticket-holder will be able to attend the Popkomm Showcase Festival under the terms and conditions laid out on the website of the Popkomm Showcase Festival at https://popkommlive.com/tickets.
