NEW YORK (Top40 Charts/ Decca Records) - Jason Donovan has announced that he's recorded his first new album for 15 years and will release the first single 'Dreamboats & Petticoats' on 3 November, 2008 on Decca.

Having sold a staggering 13 Million albums worldwide, Jason Donovan, who celebrated his 40th Birthday this year, has returned after a 15-year break from music with a brand new album inspired by the music of the late 50's and early 60's.

The single 'Dreamboats & Petticoats' is taken from the forthcoming album 'Let It be Me' released on 10th November, 2008.
For his first recordings in 15 years, Jason has drawn on the iconic imagery and sounds of the late fifties and early sixties to create an album full of romantic memories and replicated feelings.

Written by Jason Donovan and Henry Priestman (The Christians) and produced by Brian Rawlings (Lemar / Cher), 'Dreamboats & Petticoats' is an upbeat, sunny rock and roller, that strives for an authentic sound. To obtain the bona fide feel to the track, it was recorded entirely live with guitars provided by the legendary Hank Marvin.

It was a period that that first made him a musical icon in the late 1980's, and as well as reworking firm favourites like 'Sealed With A Kiss' (originally number 1 in June 1989) and 'Rhythm Of The Rain' (hit number 9 in September 1990), the album is set to feature new interpretations of classics such as 'Blue Velvet', 'Love Hurts' and 'Smoke Gets In My Eyes'.

'Dreamboats & Petticoats' is a brand new song written for the album and recorded in the style and influenced by the nostalgia of the period.

In keeping with the mood of the album, Jason Donovan will be touring the UK during November and December 2008, with his Pictures & Postcards tour of British seaside towns.
