SEATTLE, WA. (Top40 Charts/ Brave New World) - The track is now available for download on Myspace at www.myspace.com/shyanselah and has been submitted to over 4,000 radio stations worldwide. "Soul Music is the first single from Shyan's new album, Concrete City. Anticipation for the record is expanding internationally throughout the United States, Japan and Canada where a 28-city tour will kick off June 18, with Shyan as the opening act for Canada's new hip-hop phenom, Classified. Other tour dates and countries will be announced this fall. June 18th also marks the video and street release of "Soul Music."

"Soul Music: The Anthem" is an introduction of Shyan Selah to the world as a true artist who's goal is create an urban music crusade. Shyan's own entertainment firm, Brave New World, is releasing the "Soul Music" single campaign as a true indie. A generous portion of sales and proceeds generated from the single will go to Shyan's non-profit organization, The Brave Foundation, as well as the Jimi Hendrix Foundation where Shyan serves as active spokesperson and board member.

"Soul Music: The Anthem." Bursting with passion and energy and chock-full of references to power and spirituality, the song is a hip-hop warrior cry and a compliment to radio and music programmers who are thirsting for new material in a world where much of urban music has become at best stagnant and at worst soulless. After public incidents such as the Don Imus racial remarks against the Rutger's women's basketball team, and the fall-out that followed against hip-hop music, Shyan says there has never been more perfect timing for him and his music to surface and make an impact.

"'Soul Music' marks a shift in urban music. It speaks to the thirst that urban people have for something new, pure…something that speaks to the spirit," Shyan said. The song, which seems to embody the essence of "old soul" such as the James Browns, George Clintons, or Jimi Hendrixes, also pays homage to the originals in hip-hop such as Tupac Shakur and Lauren Hill; emcees whose goals were to tell stories and speak to their people. At the same time Soul Music holds originality. "More and more I have a sense of my own vintage ness," says Shyan. "This song embodies everything I am: there's some rebelliousness, some risk, but also compassion…it's true to what I'm about."
