San Diego, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Foxworthy Records) - Miz Mandy's first dance single, "In the Mix," remixed by DJ
Scotty K., has won the affection of club DJs across the country. Breaking in at No 2 and No 5 on the Billboard Breakout Charts in March, "In The Mix" debuted the week of April 21st at No 43 on The Dance Club Play Charts. One week later, Miz Mandy's single has climbed to No 40 replacing last week's No 40 single, Beyonce's "Irreplaceable."
Marvin Collett of WLKT in Lexington, KY anticipates that it will become the dance hit of the summer. Written by Miz Mandy, Patricio Pickslay, and Douglas Foxworthy, The song, "In The Mix - Scotty K Remix," describes the attraction two people feel as their eyes meet across the dance floor. The lyrics ring "I see you there, with your devil stare, could be serious (mix it up), dark and mysterious. Share the beat, of your heart with me, leave me breathless. Are you in the mix with me?"
Miz Mandy, "It's a song of seduction across cultural lines, the invitation of life." Carlos Gonzales and Nestor "Tito" Martinez accompany Miz Mandy on the track with Spanish backing-vocals. She said the focus is "to mix up the different cultures and the different sounds."
Miz Mandy has an eclectic group with an eight-piece band and an entourage of vocalists and dancers. Making music with an international flare, she integrates European dance sounds with Latin beats. "We're creating a unique sound by borrowing elements from all types of music," she states.
John Hrabar of Energy Twirl in Pittsburgh agreed that the "In the Mix" single remixed by Scotty K "melds the best elements of tribal and progressive."
Miz Mandy said, "It's been great to work with Scotty… he's one of the most sought after talents in the industry. It seems everything he touches turns to gold!"
The Los Angeles Times calls DJ Scotty K "one of L.A.'s Premiere DJs." Scotty K. has remixed tracks for among others Christina Aguilera, Seal, Madonna, Inaya Day, Kimberly Locke and Katharine McPhee.
Brad LeBeau, Founder of PRO MOTION, predicted that Miz Mandy's project was destined for the Top 40. He said, "This week's forty Hot Dance Music Club Play chart point gain is proof positive that a number of America's foremost DJs remain enamored to 'In the Mix.'"
