James Angus and Jan Skubiszewski are JACKSON JACKSON. Harry (Vocals/Trumpet - The Cat Empire) and Jan (Producer - Phrase, & Composer), first met when working together back in 2002. Fast-forward to 2006 – Jan's talent behind the sound desk and his mastery of beats collided with Harry's musical genius, resulting in a collaborative masterpiece, 'THE FIRE IS ON THE BIRD', their debut album set for release on MARCH 24. JACKSON JACKSON describe their music as a fusion of Hip Hop, Afro-beat & Psychobilly. 'Cats Rats and Pigeons', the single at radio now, gives us our first taste of what is to come. Spark (After The Fall, The Follow, Spiderbait, End Of Fashion), which takes us deep into the crazy world of JACKSON JACKSON.
By the time 'THE FIRE IS ON THE BIRD' hits stores there will already be videos out for almost half the tracks on the album. The unofficial video for 'Intelligent Evolved and Insane' became one of the Most Viewed videos on Youtube over summer before being banned by the website (due to the copyright issues surrounding the use of one 'Mr Potato Head'!). Since then the video for another yet unreleased track 'Grab A Gun' has gone on to create even more controversy.
At present, JACKSON JACKSON are hard at work rehearsing their live show – after selling out their first (not so) 'secret show' in Melbourne the boys will be hitting the east coast in March with their live band, which features a red-robed choir, a mountain of synthesizers, and an acoustic guitar.
