NEW YORK, NY. (Epic Records) - Multi-platinum Epic recording artists INCUBUS whose new album LIGHT GRENADES debuted on Billboard's Top 200 at No. 1 are now turning to their fans to keep the momentum going. The quintet recently offered
Incubus diehards the opportunity to create the video for their second single, 'Dig.' The response was nothing short of extraordinary with over 100 phenomenal entries submitted.
From December 5th to January 15th, fans were able to enter the 'I Dig Incubus Contest' by logging onto www.idigincubus.com. There they could download previously shot footage of the band and other digital assets, which they were able to play with and edit as they saw fit. After reviewing all entries, the band selected five top finalists. The winning video - which is scheduled to be announced by Incubus on February 13 during a live webcast at the band's Wiltern show in LA- will become the official video for "Dig," and will be serviced to video and online outlets worldwide.
The promotion spotlights the popularity of user-generated content and the band's eagerness to find new ways to interact and connect with fans.
'We're extremely excited to have our fans be involved with this part of the creative process,' said lead singer Brandon Boyd and guitarist Mike Einziger. 'There have been some amazing submissions and we can't wait to see who gets chosen as the winner.'
The quintet (vocalist Brandon Boyd, guitarist Mike Einziger, bassist Ben Kenney, DJ Chris Kilmore and drummer Jose Pasillas) recorded LIGHT GRENADES, their sixth studio release, in Atlanta and L.A. with acclaimed producer Brendan O'Brien (Audioslave, Neil Young, Pearl Jam). Fueling the album's success is hit single 'Anna Molly' which held the No 1 spot on the alternative airplay chart for five weeks and whose Jamie Thraves (Coldplay, Death Cab For Cutie and Radiohead)-directed companion video is currently garnering strong airplay on MTV2, VH1 and Fuse.
You can catch Incubus playing 'Anna Molly,' 'Dig' and other favorites from LIGHT GRENADES on their sold out tour which kicked off January 5th at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. Current dates are below.
