Carly Rae Jepsen And Duracell Power Smiles For Children's Miracle Network This Holiday Season
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Multi-platinum singer and songwriter, Carly Rae Jepsen is teaming up with Duracell this holiday season to help thousands of children spending the holidays in the hospital. The GRAMMY nominated artist has partnered with the brand to encourage Canadians to power good and support a worthy cause.

For the ninth year in a row, Duracell's 'Powering Holiday Smiles' campaign will donate a year's supply of batteries to member children's hospitals across Canada in order to power lifesaving medical devices and the thousands of playroom toys and games that children and their families will be using this holiday season and beyond. In addition, for every pack of Duracell batteries that Canadians purchase at Walmart from November 25th to December 31st 2015 Duracell will donate to Children's Miracle Network, with the goal to raise $100,000. To learn more about the campaign follow @Duracell on Twitter.

"I'm excited to join forces with Duracell and help these kids celebrate the holidays," said Jepsen. "Children's Miracle Network is such a wonderful organization, and I'm just glad that I can be here to help support a great cause and power a few smiles along the way."

As part of the Duracell Powering Holiday Smiles campaign, Carly made an appearance at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Toronto to visit families currently spending time at the hospital.

Hasbro, in partnership with Duracell, will donate toys, including favourites from the popular MY LITTLE PONY, FURREAL FRIENDS and PLAYSKOOL brands, all powered by Duracell batteries, to participating Children's Miracle Network member hospitals in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, London, Hamilton, Toronto, Ottawa, two in Montreal, Quebec City, Halifax and St. John's.

"This is Duracell's ninth year of proudly donating to children's hospitals across Canada, and with the generous support of Carly Rae Jepsen, and caring Canadians everywhere, we are aiming to power as many smiles as we possibly can," said Peter Gorzkowski, Duracell Canada. "Canadians can help by purchasing a pack of Duracell batteries at Walmart between from November 25th to December 31st 2015 to help raise funds for Children's Miracle Network."

"We know that Canadians are extremely compassionate during the holidays," said John Hartman, Chief Operating Officer at Children's Miracle Network. "With the support of Canadians and partners like Duracell, we can provide the funding needed to ensure that vital programs, equipment and research devoted to children's health continue to thrive."

There is so much to do this time of year and details can easily get overlooked, but there's nothing more disappointing than a child receiving a toy on Christmas morning and finding out it is powerless. Duracell suggests that families stock up on batteries of various sizes and cautions against removing the batteries from emergency devices such as smoke alarms and flashlights to use in gifts.

Multi-platinum Grammy nominated singer and songwriter, Carly Rae Jepsen released her critically acclaimed new album E·MO·TION, in August via Schoolboy Records/Interscope. Carly will hit the road on a U.S. headlining tour in support of the album kicking off November 9th. E·MO·TION has earned Jepsen a host of rave reviews, with several outlets — including TIME, Entertainment Weekly, People, Stereogum, Vulture, Complex,Newsday, Noisey, US Weekly, and PopCrush — declaring it the pop album of the year so far. Rolling Stone has called E·MO·TION a "pop masterclass," while New York magazine raves that it is "rapturous, hook-filled…as big and churning as tidal waves…a joyful freedom from the pop game's stuffy rules." The New York Times notes that E·MO·TION is "brimming with potential radio singles ripe for group sing-alongs." Two of those singles have already been released, "Run Away With Me" and "I Really Like You." The latter became a global Top 40 hit, and its video is Vevo Certified with over 100 million views. Jepsen's new single "Your Type" is out now. E·MO·TION is the follow-up to Jepsen's U.S. debut album Kiss, which featured her blockbuster break-out hit "Call Me Maybe." The single climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes Singles charts in over 47 countries and has sold over 18 million singles worldwide to date. It earned Jepsen 2012 GRAMMY nominations for Best Pop Solo Performance and Song of the Year. Kiss also spawned the follow-up hit "Good Time," a duet with Owl City, which has been certified double-platinum. Jepsen spent much of 2014 starring in the Broadway production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella, earning rave reviews. Jepsen will also star as "Frenchy" in GREASE: LIVE airing Sunday, January 31 on FOX.
